First Day hikes are a part of a nation-wide initiative led by America’s State Parks to encourage people to get outdoors. On New Year’s Day, hundreds of free, guided hikes were organized in all 50 states. Last year nearly 55,000 people rang in the New Year, collectively hiking over 133,000 miles throughout the country!
This year, the GCT offered our third annual hike.
Trustees Holly Estes, Rick Muehlke, Bob Pine, and new trustee Debbie Howell (pictured here with her camera) joined Susan Hughes to tromp around Fitch-Woods, McLain’s Woods, Walker Conservation Land and Sawtell to ring in the new year.
We are happy to start 2024 outdoors and hope to see many of you soon!
